Lost, stolen or faulty OV-chipkaart

A lost or stolen personal OV-chipkaart must be blocked. The OV-chipkaart Customer Service (tel. 0900-0980, normal call charges apply) can do this for you or block it yourself in your My OV-chip account. A replacement card can also be requested right away at ov-chipkaart.nl. The replacement personal OV-chipkaart will be sent to your home address within approx. 6 working days. All products you had on the old card, i.e. potentially also on GVB Flex, will be transferred to the replacement card. You must cover the costs for the replacement card yourself.

Please note: do not request a new card because then your GVB Flex product won’t be transferred to your new card.  

A GVB Service & Tickets desk can check for you whether your card is actually faulty or if there is another reason why your card is no longer working. If your card is really faulty, request a replacement card at ov-chipkaart.nl. The replacement personal OV-chipkaart will be sent to your home address. All products you had on the old card, i.e. potentially also on GVB Flex, will be transferred to the replacement card.
